does anyone make custom grips for the coonan, something different than wood?

Well, with the caveat that you can get any custom grip made you like. . .for the right price. . .you're pretty unlikely to find something like this off someone's shelf.

The guns were never all that popular, and unless I am mistaken, they're not even in current production.

For those reasons, demand for non-wood custom grips has got to be negligible, again, meaning you're unlikely to find these grips just sitting around.

This is the closest I've found:

If you want to actually pay a custom grip maker to make you your grips, that should be eminently doable. I haven't used any of them myself, but you could contact some of these people and see what they say:

Perhaps some other posters could recommend a decent custom grip maker.

    etc. . .

I've owned a few Coonans and in my quest to find mags that didn't cost over $125.00 each have googled the heck out of "Coonan" and never came across any nonwood grips.

There were rubber ones for the Coonan. I have one pair myself but I do not remember where I got them ( About 5 years ago I think). I will get back to you.
