    Hello guys,

I am down in Fort Smith,Arkansas on business for a while and there is a gun show coming up. I am going to be looking to buy some bulk ammo.

Only, I live in Rhode Island. Can I ship ammo back to my house from here?

All my shipments come delivered with "ORM-D" stickers on the packaging.

    ORD-M OR ORM-D On package?

I find it helps to remember it, once you know what the letters mean "Other Regulated Material, Class D"

    ORM- D Small arms cartridges
The class "D" means Domestic.....NO air freight of ammo.
If you need some of the "official" stickers send me your address
and I will send you some free. Bob

The proper shipping name in the hazardous materials table is Cartridges, Small Arms. The regulations require that the shipping name be marked on the package exactly as written in the table. Punctuation doesn't matter.

The D doesn't stand for anything. There used to be 5 divisions of the ORM hazard class, A through E. All the divisions except two shipping names in ORM-D were integrated into other hazard classes when DOT converted to the international system.

Ammunition can be sent by air but it will go as a Division 1.4S Explosive Material with all the associated Dangerous Goods paperwork and Hazmat charges, in addition to the more expensive air rates.

Your stickers and an assortment of other types are on the way to you.
Stay away from post offices with ammo. Don't be tempted to use the cheaper flat rate box the PO offers. And unless you wish to get involved
with major head aches... NO air freight... This means to you "domestic".... Alaska and Hawaii are air plane rides for your package.
