Is there a big market for 686 Silver Pigeon 20ga?
I have found a 686 Silver Pigeon 20ga. I looked in the book and it seemed these were pretty high dollar. I tried to find one on GB for sale and didn't really see any to compare it with.
So, I was just curious if there was a big market for these. I would hate to buy the gun, end up not liking it, and then be stuck with it because I couldn't sell it.

I have a 20 gauge in the series and like it very much.
It's light and very well made; one that doesn't feel too heavy during a day in the field. It's light enough & fast pointing for bird shooting.
The absence of sales data could be that their owners like them and want to hang on to them.

Do a smart search, completed auctions for 686 silver 20. I see that a lot were listed for sale in the last 6 months; check them out if you want to see if any actually sold and what they brought..this is a better indicator or price than any book value IMHO. Good luck. 0 -

The 686 Silver Pidgeon gun is a high dollar gun, but not super high. The 20's more so than the 12's.
I found them light and well made. However, all the 686's I've shot don't have enough drop in the comb for me. I've been shooting too long to change to how some of the better shooters do it and that is they bring the comb alongside the jawline. I prefer Brownings that have more comb drop and I bring the top of the comb right up to my cheekbone. A difference of about 1 1/2"-2". The different sight picture is of course with the 686 you're looking over the barrel and shooting 'under' the bird. I shoot looking flat down the rib and shoot 'at' the bird. If the former is your style then I would say look hard at getting one. They are very good shotguns.0
