will the lyman dies for a 475 wildey work in a lee press ?

Most dies are made to standard dimensions, and will interchange with other manufacturers presses. I have RCBS and Dillon presses, but have used RCBS, DILLON, Redding, Lyman, and Hornady dies you could not give me a set of Lee's.

Yes it should fit. Unless it is an OLD die with some sort of non-standard threads. And by old I mean 40-50 years old.
Everyone has their favorites. I have Lyman, CH4D, RCBS, Hornady, and Herter's dies. By FAR my favorites are the Lees. I prefer not having to mess with allen wrenches and set screws. I like their decapping system a lot better. it seems to be made of harder steel than the decapping rod on the other companies' dies. I've bent a few RCBS and similar rods, never a Lee. Downside is, while it's harder to break the tip of a Lee decapper, if you do, you have to order the whole assembly, not just the pin. So to each his own.
Bottom line is, knowing they do interchange on presses I buy whatever is cheapest or on the used table at the show. I challenge anyone to load ammo on a variety of dies and see a difference in the functionality or accuracy of the finished product. Benchrest shooting not included.
Addressing the next post (so as not to use up another reply) I'd like to clarify my response. When I say Benchrest shooting not included, I mean that for all 'ordinary' dies, be they Lee, RCBS, Lyman, etc. RCBS makes a competition grade die. As does Redding, Forrester, etc. I wouldn't put any 'standard' die up against a 'competition' die, whatever the manufacturer. It would be apples to oranges. I would however put any standard die against any other standard die, made by reputable manufacturers. For what it's worth, for many years the world record tightest 1000 yard group was held by ammo loaded on Lee products.0 -

Hello you can order just the pin for the Lee decapper infact my new lee decapper broke the pin a couple weeks ago on my 300 win die and lee sent me two new ones for free something to think about.The older Lyman dies i think the 310 model was smaller threads i have a set of 243 dies from them that is worthless with the older Jshell holder never did figger out what the spring on the shell holder was for lol 0 -
There are, or at least used to be, adapters that allowed using the old Lyman 310 dies in standard presses. 0 -
I use an old single stage Herters press, probably 60 years old if it's a day. It takes all my dies, LEE, RCBS, Herters, Lyman, etc but it uses non standard Herters shell holders. I have an adaptor (that cost about $5) to allow the use of modern shell holders.
I agree with the positive remarks re the Lee dies. Have a bunch of them, never had a problem. Unlike RCBS............. !
If I remember right, there used to be a number of accuracy records held by people who reloaded with a Lee Loader. HMMMMM......... !
But, to each his own. That's why some drive Fords, others drive Chevy's.

They make adapters for the old 310 dies to use in any press,I use a herters turret.I have one set of lees,7X64 bres. I broke decap pin on 3rd shell I have never used since .I have lyman,RCBS,bonanza,wells and herters dies and never had any trouble.tks hedge 0 -
Lyman dies with the exception of 310 dies will fit modern presses. The 310 dies are the same as Lyman Truline Jr. dies and with an adaptor will fit modern presses. Those die series neck size only. Shell holders are a different story. Some older presses used proprietary shell holders but one can buy adaptors to take standard shell holders.
Old chrome plated Lyman and Herters dies were pretty crummy but worked.I had a lot of trouble with 45LC Lyman and Herters dies years back as 45LC ammo case dimensions weren't standardized to current SAAMI specs.
Lee dies work well and I have them for most of my calibers.
I use about four Lee single stage cheapo c-presses for priming, depriming and light operations and four heavy iron presses like RCBS, Herters and an old Lyman turret(very good) All American for other operations.
