History of the "Premier" .22 pump rifle.
I've become involved in an interesting discussion on another forum. That has taken a turn to possibly become some very useful reference info.
All starting w/a Meriden .22 Pump rifle someone acquired.
So far have fairly well documented that the Meriden was a Savage design, that was sold to the Meriden company and MFG as the Meriden Model 15.
Then when Meriden folded, the design somehow went to Mossberg. Where w/some minor changes, it evolved into the Mossberg models K, M, and S. With the Model K being the most similar to the Meriden Model 15.
During this time, Mossberg began producing the "Premier", based on the Meriden as a store brand gun. And from I can find, mostly similar to the Mossberg Model S.
Then Mossberg for some reason gave up on Pump action .22's. And -"Reportedly"- sold the "Premier" name to Savage. Where the Premier was continued as a store brand gun variation of the Savage Model 25.
Now for the Question. Does anyone have, or has seen a Savage built Premier rifle?
The only ones I've seen are of the Mossberg heritage.

Never seen one, and have no idea if they were ever made.
However, I just answered ANOTHER question about Savage rifles and noticed that on their website they list a contact number for "historical information".
Worth a phone call, I think:

Edit: See I just responded to a three year old thread. . .I'm dumb. For Phauer, it may take some searching, but try here: http://www.gunpartscorp.com/0
