enfield mk4 #1 with a slight barrel bend
I recently purchased an enfield from GB. It is in excellent condition except that it was sold with the description of having a barrel that is slightly bent up. looking at the gun from every angle inside and out I am unable to see any deviation in the barrel. Even when comparing it to another mk4 1. Is there any way to test if the barrel has any bend if at all? Thanks, Jim.

With out precision test equipment that may be a tuff one. I would spend
a few bucks on a 3 foot piece of .312 diameter steel drillrod from a machineshop. If you are lucky the rod will fit down the bore and you may
be able to "feel" some binding as it goes in. Drillrod is a hard round
steel that comes in exact diameters for making drills. If you are friendly with a machinist, he can polish it down to the exact fit of the bore if need be. Bob0 -
I think a rod a slip fit in a rifle bore would follow any curvature that would leave the gun usable. The only way I can think of to determine the bend is to shoot the gun and see if it hits way off the point of aim. 0
