Cleaning Shotgun Bead

The bead on my shotgun, which used to be White 40 years ago, is now a light brown, any ideas on how to clean it back to white? I tried cleaning it with Acetone last weekend and it didn't improve much.

  Do you know what it is made of. Ivory will change color over time. I have no idea how to clean that. As to plastic, try a mild abrasive like semichrome polish, rub lightly.

  Your bead is probably ivory. Had it been plastic, acetone would have disolved it.
  
  Call 1 800 741 0015 for Brownells & ask for Tech. Assistence. I'll bet they can set you up with a new bead easier than messing with the old one.
