It has been listed on this site for years, I see no more value to it than any other gun. apparently Im not alone.

As mentioned, this gun has been listed on this site FOREVER. That's a pretty strong indication that the asking price is too high.

FWIW, assuming the provenance is valid (and I have no reason to believe that it isn;t) this gun probably *would* qualify as a C&R gun, since it derives most of its value from its historical connection (eg compared to other similar models without the provenance).

Personally, I'd be willing to pay more than the fair market value of the stuff minus the historical connection, just for "ha ha" value, or conversation value at the range.

You figure a Dan Wesson .357 in good shape, a holster belt and a few other accessories might be worth $700 (max). Maybe this gun is worth twice that. . .MAYBE a bit more.

But 20+ time that amount? I don't think so.

There is a (small) market for items connected with infamous persons. On another site, seller was trying to hawk a military field manual on demolitions that was marked as the property of a Spec 4 that was later convicted of bombing the Federal Bldg in Oklahoma City.

Would I want it? No. Would someone else? Probably. I don't collect Nazi militaria with a death's head insignia- some people do.

Looks like the guy finally gave up on his dreams of getting $25K+, listed it for a penny and finally found out it's true value: About one-tenth of what he imagined.

The bid is $2445. Where do you get 25k?

Look at the date of my original post, this package had been listed for a while with a $25,000 BIN price. I can only speculate but I guess the seller decided to just letter rip with a no reserve, but I think he was expecting a better performance.
