coyote hide

I skinned and tanned ( using all the steps on the bottle of tanning solution) a coyote hide back in December 2009. It is now begining not to smell all that great. I recleaned it and scrubbed it baking soda and hosed the heck out of it, without any luck. Is there any other tips I can use. Thank you, Joe.

  Did you scrape all the fat off the inside of the hide before you tanned it?

  yup- got it all. about 6 hours worth!

  Put it in the freezer until you can figure out what went wrong. This will stop it from rotting.

  I can't help you on this one.
  But, next time, send your skin to Sebring Custom Tanning in Sebring, Florida.
  They do beautiful work, and cheaply!
