Several posts on the Shiloh board describe .50-90 breechloaders for up to 700 grain bullets with a 22 inch twist. I think a 24 or even 26 would work but have not tried it myself. The original .50-70 twist was 36 inches but it was meant for about a 450 grain bullet.
The standard Badger .50 twist is 26".
A Green Mountain "fast twist" .50 muzzleloader barrel is 28" but their .50 caliber breechloader barrel has a 24" twist.0
