Help identifying this Mosin Nagant

Hello all,

I purchased a few guns from a collection recently and I would like to sell a few of them. I don't know much about Mosin-Nagants and Mousers so I hope someone can help me figure out what I have so I can properly list them.

The first one is a Mosin Nagant that has 1895 stamped on the receiver. Here are some pictures:

    Well, I'm not expert enough on Mosin Nagant rifles to say much about yours other than that its in quite nice shape.

    A true 1895 manufacture Mosin rifle will have some extra value as a pre-1898 antique that can be shipped anywhere via regular mail without an FFL. Ones in good shape usually go for at least a few hundred dollars, which is several fold more than the glut of refinished used WWII era Mosin rifles that have been on the market for the last several years.

    That rifle has either had a very nice refinish job, or else it is the best condition Mosin that I have seen. If you put it on the auction side, please let us know.

    Nice rifle. It is a Model 91. A few questions: It looks like the stock has the finger splice joint near the rear sight. If so the stock is a Finnish one and that indicates that Finland at some time had the rifle in its possession or else someone has replaced the stock at some time with a Finnish one. Does the barrel have a "SA" stamped on it anywhere? That is the Finnish military property mark. If you have taken the stock off, did you notice any markings such as a date, etc. on the bottom of the tang where the rear action bolt goes through? Your rifle is Russian made but at some time it was probably overhauled in Finland, possibly even used by one side or both in the Russian/Finnish war(s). It looks to me like it has been refinished at some time recently; it is hard to tell by pictures alone. Regardless, I would value the rifle at $250, possibly higher if it has not been refinished or reblued.
