FN 5.7
Can someone help me. I just purchased a FN 5.7. I was manufactured on August 5, 2009. I did not like the gray colored buttons (mag release, etc.) so I purchased the black ones. I noticed that the mag/catch button was metal in the gun but the ones they sent me from the parts dept are composite. Is there a difference? The composite seems to work fine but I wonder since my gun is newer than the parts maybe they changed to metal for a reason? Anyone know? Thanks

My guess is just the opposite of yours. I am guessing that the parts are newer than your gun, or your gun would have had the plastic parts in it too. If the plastic ones are working, then leave it be. The mags are plastic too? If so, it is good that the mag release is plastic

Well then I stand corrected. You now know you have the better of the two magazine releases.0 -
I found out today from F&N that the composite mag release were having a problem so the new guns have a metal release. Thanks 0
