Help identifying Sears & Roebuck shotgun

I received this shotgun as a gift from my uncle who got this shotgun from his brother. I have searched all over the web to find out who made this gun and possibly in what year. It says Sears & Roebuck Co. Model 101.100. It is a 16 ga. single shot break action and it has a hunting dog emblem on the side of the action. Any help would be much appreicated.

  It's a Savage Model 96 worth about $75.00 in excellent condition.
