DSA FAL

I have a DSA FAL and want to switch out the plastic knob on the cocking handle to a wood one - the rest of the gun is wood, want the knob to match.

I know how to remove the cocking slide from the gun, not sure about removing the plastic knob from the slide. DSA sells a rivet - I'm thinking I have to drill out the rivet from the inside of the knob and replace it - correct?

    Ive really been wanting to get a FAL, i looked into the CETMEs but they just dont seem as good, or as good looking, i found this FAL made by DSA arms, i wanted to know if anyone has any expirience with DSA and this type of rifle. quality?? accuracy?? how is realiability?? thanks for all the help

    There is also the option of filing the back side off an inch charging handle (folding style) so that you don't need to cut your receiver, and then you can have the inch folding style on your metric rifle. Looks good. I don't mind the beer keg myself...

    Unless you have serious skills and good luck, you will likely split the wooden knob when you try to set the rivet. I like the aluminum handles myself.

    No one kept or used the wooden knobs because they split and fell off, and then it is really hard on the hands to continue using the weapon.


    Good point, was considering the folding type and kind of like it. What's needed to do that for metric - new unit?
