My reference indicates that "New York Arms Co." was a tradename used by Garnet Company of Chattanooga, Tennessee on shotguns made by Crescent Fire Arms Company.

Crescent Fire Arms was a prolific manufacturer of trade name firearms established in Norwich, Conn in 1892, purchased by H&D Folsom in 1893 and absorbed by J Stevens Arms and Tool Company in 1926.

As said, there was no New York Arms Company. Be the name either New York Arms Company or New York Gun Company it was a "Trade Brand Name" used by the Crescent Fire Arms Company of Norwich,CT (1892 to 1932) on shotguns made for and sold by the Garnet Carter Company of Chattanooga.TN. As to just when the guns were made it was some time between 1915 and 1925. Can give a closer date if the serial number of the gun is furnished.

According to that serial number and my reference book, the gun was made in 1904.

You are welcome and thanks are accepted. However I usually charge for information about an old shotgun. $3.00 for information and $4.00 for correct information. Please put a $3.00 bill in the small slot on the front of your computer and hit the send key. Don't use a $5.00 as my computer is not programed to make change.
