Speers makes/made them. Have not bought any for awhile but still see them every so often in our gun shops up here in the northwest. 0 -

Bolthandle; I have a "better" shot load for 38 Spl. using 35 cal. copper gas check & #9 shot. Holds more pellets than plastic capsule.
Take 38 Spl. case, resize, put in 3.6 grain Bullseye. Tamp in 35 cal. copper gas check (I use a short brass rod/hammer) Fill up case with #9 shot. Sweep over case mouth with forefinger. Install copper gas check on top. Tamp down over shot till flush with case mouth. Set taper crimp so that gas check is secured within case. You'll see it pop (go convex) a bit. About 150 pellets (weigh 115 grains). Max range 20 feet. I tried this out of my 4" bbl. S & W 64 @ 20 feet. 1/2 pellets are within an 18" circle and one of the gas checks blew a 35 cal. hole at 5 o'clock. I use the gas check over the powder "cup up" & over pellets "cup down" i.e. gas check under shot like under lead bullet, over shot like cap. I got gas checks & #9 Magnum shot at Midway. 20 foot is max. range for this. Tighter groups closer in.0 -

I forgot one CAVEAT: Do not fire these loads out of any gun with a compensated (vents or ports) barrel. Thats why I used my S & W 64 not my comped Rossi or Taurus. I guessed because shot could get lodged in holes or slots & such.[:0] 0
