Charles Daly Superior II Hunter O/U

Can anyone out there give me the following info on the Charles Daly 12 guage Superior II Hunter O/U Shotgun. This is a shotgun that I inherited from my uncle, it is in beautiful condition and I plan to keep it and enjoy it. I have sent requests repeatedly to Charles Daly for info about this shotgun to no avail. I know that it was made in Italy and I know that it is NOT the Empire II EDL Hunter, although it looks similar. I have looked in the Standard Catalog of Firearms, but can find no definitive information. This shotgun's action is nicely engraved and also has four gold game birds, two ducks on one side, and two pheasants on the other. What I'd like to know is; When was it made (Time frame), Who in Italy manufactured this shotgun and are they considered a quality Italian manufacturer, Will this shotgun accept non-custom made choke tubes other than CD's Tubes and if so what brand of tubes. Are there any problems with this shotgun that I should be aware of? Also what do you believe is an approximate value for this gun at 95% of new? Any constructive input about this shotgun would be appreciated.

Sell it and buy a Browning Superposed or Winchester 101. I could not own a firearm that was called Charles Daly. JMHO 0 -
It was possibly made by Fausti Stephano/ Rizzini in Italy. They are a quality firearms manufacturer. Traditions imports these under their trade name as well. Beretta also made guns for Charles Daly Company, so it could be a Beretta product. I would value your gun roughly at $950-$1095. Look at some pictures of Fausti Stephano/Rizzini shotguns and Beretta shotguns and see if yours looks similar. Charles Daly is/was an importer only. Most of their products are first class. I feel that your shotgun is an excellent one. The 28th Edition of Blue Book of Gun Values lists the Superior II Hunter as imported 1997-2005 with the last MSRP of $1519, and a 98% value of $1,075, and a 95% value of $900. This book is two years old so today's values might be a little higher. 0 -
I bought one for $550 and sold it for about $580. Mine had no chokes and made a very tight pattern. Very nice wood.
My best shooting shotgun for me is a Daly Miroku made in Japan, same as a Citori.0 -
