Benelli 12g Slug Barrel
Last Fall I bought a new Benelli Super Black Eagle 2 12 gauge and was going to buy a slug barrel for it but, not only are they hard to get they are expensive. I am getting different answers from everyone I ask but my question is,
Is it OK to fire slugs / sabots in this gun without a slug barrel and if so what choke should I use?
We are getting close to the deer / hog season down here and I want to be prepared to have the greatest advantage possible.
Thanks in advance

Use your cyl. choke. You can try the mod. and see if it groups any better, sometimes they do. You also need to see which one hits to point of aim. 0 -
Thanks Dick, so I guess you're saying it will not hurt the regular barrel.

won't hurt the barrel but sabots will likely pattern poorly as they are designed for rifled barrels. Use a good foster type with and IC or CYL choke. I like Breneke but there are some new ones out that I've read are also very accurate in a smooth bore 0 -
my best results have always been with Breneke slugs fired in an Ithaca model 37 with cyl bore 0
