I think you mean, "Can they be shipped LEGALLY to California?"

I believe as a matter of STATE law, they can, though individual CITIES (EG LA, Sacramento) might have ordinances that prohibit certain types of ammo.

In general, the "black talons" have a bad reputation that is highly undeserved. Contrary to urban myth, they don't penetrate armor, and they've never been shown to be any more dangerous (or effective) than a variety of other premium hollowpoint ammo by other makers.

Further, while the Black Talon brand has been discontinued (largely due to external pressure) Winchester continues to market what is more or less the Same eXact Thing, under the brand name "SXT".

(That's "Supreme Expansion Technology", so claims Winchester).

    Edit: HeDog, see above.

+1 The Winchester Ranger SXT produced for Law Enforcement is essentially the 5th generation of the Black Talon

And it works as well if not better than the original black talon.

It could be that he is looking to ship a box of black talons to CA as a collectable, no one has actually answered his question, just told him SXT is still around.

Can I legally ship my old box of .357 Black Talons to the Peoples Republic of California?

Yes you can ship, although local regulations my restrict the shipping of any kind of ammunition (whether or not it has a nasty reputation) into certain cities or counties. Since you did not bother to mention the actual destination inside this extremely large state, I can't tell you any more than that.
