Walther PPK/s S&W recall
I got my PPK/s back from S&W today with the recall completed, about 6 weeks after sending it in. I also asked them to smooth out the safety/decocker lever, which they did. The invoice also indicates that they polished the feed ramp, not sure why, but that's fine with me. So if they have yours, it should be done soon.

Polishing the feed ramp is a plus. It will aid in positive feeding.
PPKs & PPKSs are known for problems in feeding some styles of hollow points. Some gunsmiths specialize in throating these barrels to feed problem hollow points.
Power Ball ammo should feed better or at least as good as FMJ in these guns.0 -
I sent my PPK/s in the first week of April and have yet to receive it, though I did get a letter saying I should be receiving it within a month. 0 -
I took my PPK/s to the range today and have to revise my previous comment about the S&W smoothing out the decocker lever; they didn't touch it..it's rough and hard to move..you have to have a strong thumb. Kind of frustrating; I have several German-made Walthers as well as Interarms assembled ones and they are butter-smooth. I'm guessing that the detent seat is too deep or that the spring is a little too long (strong)and that is the reason for the rough decocker lever. It bothers me that I specifically requested that they fix this and they did not. This kind of customer service is going to give S&W a black eye; I was going to order one of the 22lr MP-15's and a classic mM29's but with this kind of support I'll look elsewhere. 0
