    Dave,
    Not familiar with the finish on your guns but you could always try a good auto paste wax. Can't hurt.

    I'm with JustC on using the Flitz - followed by a coating of spray silicone - apply with a cotton swab, let dry and then buff with a soft cloth. I've done several hundred "older" guns like this and it provides and cleaning, shining and protective coating. You cannot hurt collectible value of those RG's by doing this, as they currently have none.

    I'm a Flitz fan also, don't put wax on them, they are not cars.

    Guess that means I should stop pre-soaking my powder in deisel fuel too?

    The RG guns are made of zinc. If you use Flitz or any abrasive, the "bluing" will come right off. Use the wax. Neutral shoe polish works well.
