Gerber Knife question

Does anybody know about this knife? It is marked Gerber International and was made in Italy

It percieves to be a cheap copy with the Gerber name stamped on it...it does not pertray Gerber quality, in the least.

Wipala, you could ask Gerber, but I too think it is a knock off.

wipala...I have several Gerber boot knives and this looks like a cheap Chinese copy and certainly not up to Gerber quality. I would be very suspicious of "Gerber International." Even the Italians make better looking knives than this one! Rough, very rough.

Looks like a Gerber dive knife that has lived a very hard life.

Ditto. I have a couple very similiar to this one, tho as jeffb1911
said,this one has had a tough life. Seems they were called wild river or wind river, was meant to be a dive/kayak knife, could be worn on a neck lanyard for quick access. Sheath clicked onto the knife for a positive grip yet would come out easily. Had a screw driver point, which apparently been ground back on this one, and a thicker blade. This was around the time the multi tools started showing in quantity. Liked mine and worked well, bought it from Sportsmans guide 12-15 years ago.
