Barrel set for Savage 24

I have a 22LR/.410 barrel set that came off a Savage 24. I was thinking of trying to find a gun with another caliber/gauge to have a multi-barrel setup. Will this set require a lot of fitting to work safely with another frame?

  It should not, but you are restricted to a rimfire .22 for your top barrel, no centerfire.
