    which enfield do you have? there's a No1 Mk4 and a No4 Mk1.

    Pretty sure he has a NO. 4 MK I. 1943 lend lease act, I dont think we produced any NO. 1's in the states.

    Thanks for the welcome! Sorry about the slow response, I don't get too much time for computer use anymore, with 10 month old twins at home... my error, it's a No. 4 Mk 1. It has a good bore and shoots very well for an old warrior so I'd like to save it if I can.. it just won't hold it's extractor in place.

    Yes you have a Savage/Stevens built Lee Enfield No 4 Mk1. There are Four parts to the extractor consisting the bolt head,the extractor,the extractor spring and the retaining screw. When assembled properly it should not come apart. If you need further help please e-mail me. As for the golf tee thing it may well be a button shaped head space gauge but a pic is worth a thousand words.

    Thanks. I will send a note when I get a chance later. Based on the markings on the "tee", it looked like a headspace gauge, but I wasn't sure.
