Chris, I took apart the Colt and the firing pin is broke in half. I found this website that sells parts http://www.e-gunparts.com/ Have you heard of them? I was thinking about replacing the guide rod and spring as well. Thanks, Jeff.

Chris, I tested the guns and the Browning is missing the ejector and the Colt when you shoot it, the firing pin sticks out into the chamber about 1/8 inch and gets in the way of the round ejecting and chambering. It also spins and sometimes hits the rim of the round sideways and misfires. Thanks, Jeff. 0 -

Sounds like a firing pin spring and pin in the Colt and a new ejector in the Browning should solve your problems! As they are both older guns, I would probably replace the recoil springs too. Do you have access to a good, local gunsmith? You should be able to do the fixes yourself if you can get the parts you need.0 -
Thank you for the advice. I have found the parts online and I can install them. The ramp on the Browning had some nicks in it causing the bullet to hang up and I smoothed them out and it feeds alot better. I will let you know how they turn out. Thanks again, Jeff. 0 -
Also check the inside of the chamber for dings, if the pistols were dry fired alot you will get a tiny burr inside the chamber that makes extraction difficult. 0 -
