    Nope this does not make a nats behind worth of difference. At the time when the 25-35 was introduced, the switch from black powder to smokless powder had been made. The Nickel Steel Barrel", and the "Especially for Smokless Powder",, and the proof marks, denote that this barrel has been proofed for the smokless powder.

    The marking you ask about was stamped on almost all of the Model 1894/94s that were chambered for 25-35 W.C.F., 30 W.C.F., and 32 W.S. cartridges, from August of 1895 through the early months of 1932.

    What does add value to your Model 94 is the fact that it is chambered for the 25-35 W.C.F. cartridge.
