help with ar 6.8 bolt
hello, trying to help a friend out. last year a buddy and me went to the gun show in chantilly, va. he bought a rock river lower and a custom upper in 6.8 from a company called dsg customs (as far as he can remember) barrel is stamped dsg. he cant find receipt? the deal is that these guys sold him the 6.8 upper with a .223 bolt in it! trying to find out if anyone knows of these guys and might know there number. cant find a web sight. if not, where can i get a 6.8 bolt (complete)? dpms says its a 3 to 4 month wait. can anyone help me find one of these bolts in more of a timely manner? any help would be greatly appreciated. my buddy just got depressed about it and has been waiting a year to shoot his gun! please help. thanks

redman.com1,
Did you try measuring the bolt face or using the rim of a .223 case?
"cant find a web sight."
You might try these folks as they list 6.8mm uppers:

Without the receipt he may have a slight problem but persistence will pay off.

3 to 4 months is timely these days. The demand for all thing AR skyrocketed a while ago and the manufacturers haven't caught up yet, although I am seeing some parts coming back into the flow.

That raises more questions.
Does the upper really have a 5.56 barrel? It should have been headspaced, but could they possibly have headspaced it with 6.8 headspace gauges if it has a 5.56 barrel & a 6.8 bolt? Or, is it really a complete 5.56 upper?
You didn't respond to nononsense' question; it would be embarrassing if your buddy sends it back & it really has the correct bolt. And, he DOES need to return the complete upper, not just the bolt.
If it turns out DSG made a mistake, I think I would ask them to stamp the caliber on both the bolt & the barrel.
