K Frame question...

Colt Super
I won a set of beautiful square butt grips, marked on the inside "20", and "K22 Masterpiece", as well as some unreadable stuff. Also say "MAGNA STYLE".

Will these fit ANY K Frame S&W revolver, or only the K-22 ??

I need to find a stainless revolver to put them on.

    The model 17 (ie K-22) uses the standard K frame grips.

    So your grips ought to fit on any K-frame gun in the square butt configuration (which is most of them). Usually people buy the GUN first, then try to find grips to match, but hey. . .the other way works too. [;)][:p]

    FWIW the "magna" grips, as you can imagine, were originally designed for the Smith magnum revolvers way back when. The term has been subsequently used a bit more loosely for any Smith revolver grips that are fatter at the bottom and taper narrowly to the top.

    Personally speaking, I've never cared for the style. They do look nice, but they simply don't fill my hand well, and I just prefer a grip with more "meat" up front. I'm certainly not the only one, as the Tyler "T-grip" adapter was specifically designed to make these grips more hand-friendly.

    Doug,

    The K-frame has been made in both Round butt and square butt configuration. If those grips you won are for a round butt they will fit a round butt. likewise if they are for a square butt they will fit any K frame with a square butt. As has also been mentioned, I do believe that they also fit the L-frames too. So there you have it...justification to go buy another gun!

    BTW, those should fit any K or L frame they are designed for...except they probably won't fit your hand...so therefor you should send them to me...hehehehe[:D][:D][:D][:0]
