remington 600-223 value

Hello Guys,I have a remington 600 VR rifle in .223 and am thinking of putting it on the auction side but am curious if the current prices I see them listed-selling for is what I can expect for a gun in 98%
I know there were only 300 or so made,,, could that be driving the prices so high ?

    Yes, it's a simple case of supply and demand. Your carbine is a rare bird and a much sought after by collectors. I would check the serial number with Remington before I bid on one, just to make certain it is not a fake or a re-stamped 222. Have you had Remington verify yours yet?

    I dont see the need to have it verified since my uncle bought the gun new ,,,along with a 35rem,,, and a centennial edition all new,,,I guess I'll just list them for him and see whats what.

    Rarity, condition, and authentication preclude value, in that order. If you have one that is near mint, or unfired with the original box, and have paperwork from Big Green that says it is one, then it has serious potential to collectors. If yours has alterations to it, they will detract severely from the value, to a purist collector, who is looking for factory originality...even one drilled and tapped hole.

    I searched back a month for completed auctions, and even though there is only one listed, and it starts at $6500.00, it is obviously not worth that much at this time. If it was a collector would have snatched it up. If you want to know the true value of your rifle, take several well lit and clear, close up pictures and list it on the auction side. Start it at a grand, with no reserve, and run it for 14 days. The collectors will let you know what it is worth.
