I have a Rockola M1 Carbine with the barrel stamped.

Can't find any reference to it.

  I am in the market for an original WWII carbine. Before I buy, I need to get an education. Can anyone recommend a book or two? Is there good info available on the net somewhere? Any info will be greatly appreciated.

  Not sure what tools you are using, but you may need a receiver jig to hold the receiver and a barrel tool to turn it that last 1/8 turn.

  A carbine barrel can ONLY be installed with the bolt & a headspace gauge. In addition, you are installing a used (& previously altered) barrel on a receiver that may or may not be safe to use; you do not have the knowledge to evaluate either.

  Ok Neal, those are my thoughts also. Just wanted to confirm, with some guys who know. I only field striped it in Nam. thanks again, I'll go out on the net and find a M1 carbine gunsmith.Bill
