T.Dumoulin 12 Ga. Shotgun

I'd like to know what year this is.The Serial Number is #2237 and on top of the barrels it's stamped ( Twist Belgium ) and the Right side of the receiver is stamped ( The Interchangeable )Also how does the barrel assembly come off. Thanks !![?]

    Is this a SxS? Can you pull off the forend and look at the water table? Is it stamped ELG in an oval?

    I got the forend off and removed the barrels. It's stamped ELG and I dont know if it's the SxS. Thanks for your help.

    Also has the Star of David on the bottom of the Stock

    If it looks like this one:

    Then it will be a SXS (double barrel side by side). I suspect it was manufactured before the introduction of modern steel barrels, late 1800's and probably will not even safely chamber 2-3/4" shells. Should be relegated to being a wall hangar.

    If there's a crown on top of the ELG in an oval, it was made 1893 or later. If no crown, before then.

    Yep, and that is nothing to sneeze at. Imagine the history! This old gal came from Belgium, probably fed a family or two through some hard ol' years, and now well deserves a cozy place over the fire. Oil her up once in a while, dust her off, and she will still be gracing the mantle above your grandson's fire.[^]

    Dumoulin was a gun making dynasty located in Belgium in the late 1800s to the early 1900s.
    T. Dumoulin was located in Liege, Belgium from 1890 to 1914. I suspect that World War One, The Great War or The Wa to End All Wars (choose one) put an end to his business like it did to a lot of other gun makers in Belgium. A note of caution. Guns from Belgium of this period were designed for the ammunition in use at the time which was black powder loaded and most if not all had damascus barrels. I don't consider any of these guns to be safe to shoot with modern ammunition and all should be retired to a place on the wall or in the gun cabinet
