Hammerli
Just curious about the proper pronunciation.
Is it Hammer Lee
Or
Hammer EL Lee?
I say Hammer Lee but then again I say Porsche as Porch and not Porch Ah

I'm trying to find out anything about a circa 1950's Hammerli, imported for High Hunter (I'm guessing they are gun dealers) in Calif. The gun itself is a single action .357 revolver. Any help would be gratefully appreciated.[:)] 0 -
The one I had years ago was a excellent quality revolver. The Hammerli made Single Actions, were probably the best of the clones made during the 60's /70's time frame. Mine didn't have the Hi hunter import markings, as best as i can remember. Believe it was sold as the Dakoda, or some such name? The only reason I got rid of it was because the fixed sights were set up for .357, and wouldn't shoot .38 specials for beans.
Hi Hunter was only in business for a limited time. Because of this I believe your revolver would probably date to the 60's, rather then the 50's.
Have no idea of the value of a Hammerli made clone nowadays? Haven't seen one in years. Given that it was made by Hammerli, I'm sure their would be serious amount of collector demand/interest in it.0
