Sporterized Springfields go anywhere from $275 to $400---ones left in original condition go for double that plus some if in great condition--just look on the auction side. I just got a Remington '03A3 that was sporterized with scope mounts & the handguard removed but the front sights left on for $150.

It's pretty much impossible to look at a row of holes & figure out the correct mount required. So, yours wouldn't bring as much as the good buy Ruger 41 got on his.

I'd estimate it would sell in the $100-150 range.

Thanks Guys for your time and comments. I have the bases that were on the gun and I will make sure I show the gun with those mounts on and off the gun in the auction. Your comments could provide a few more sales dollars for the gun.

Again - Thanks for your help.

The receiver is about ruined because the front mount rear screw hole is drilled into the receiver locking lug. I would consider the rifle unsafe to shoot. Whoever drilled and tapped it located the base much to far to the rear.

just a tad off topic, please excuse me.., but !! good lord !!!!! i can not believe it, the S/N 4737978 of that rifle, there is only one number, (the 9) different from my original U.S.Navy issued S/N back in 1955ad.

The stock was obviously salvaged from another rifle as it has the cutout for a Lyman 48 receiver sight but the receiver of the rifle pictured has not holes to mount the Lyman 48. Don't be offended if the best offer you get is in the $150 range.
