Headspacing a pump action rifle
Can you headspace a pump action as tightly as you can a bolt action rifle without problems? I set a bolt action right at zero...at most +.001. Probably shouldn't set the pump action as tight...thoughts?

With perfect clean ammo, zero headspace should work but consider
the bolt action has more leverage to seat a less than perfect round. The slide action, having less leverage, may hang up on seating.
Similarly, straight pull military rifles were weak in this regard; both in chambering and extraction under field conditions.
You may find a zero headspace slide action or semi auto FTF because of a failure to go fully into battery. The bolt action, of course will let you know you're fully into battery.
My most accurate rifle rubbed a bright spot on the case head.0
