MODEL 59 MAKAROV 9MM PISTOL

I have had this pistol for about 15 years. I have shot it some and it shoots very good. But I don't know much about them other than it shoots 9 by 18 ammo. The serial # starts with 271 and it was made in China by Norinco according to the box. Any one have an Idea what it might be worth? Its in good shape showing very little wear. Any Ideas about it being a good carry gun? Thanks

  Chinese Makarovs are not common and valued by collectors, if in factory original condition. If you have the original box and paperwork all the better. It would probably be worth in the $300 to $500 range.
  
  
  Makarovs are Makarovs as far as CCW is concerned. They work and are hell for stout. But to big and heavy for what they are. A Mini Glock, Karr, or Keltec in 9mm would be a lot better.

  it is a very good pistol.i had a super makarov collection of common and rare models,,i sold the collection but kept ..the norinco,E german,and my non import russian..the norinco shoots point of aim all day[^]
