colt white stallion
I'm looking for info on colt custom shop pistols rollmarked white stallion and black stallion. When were they made, how many were made and approximate value for a pair with matching serial numbers. They are built on mustang frames. The white stallion is stainless and comes in a silver pouch and custom shop blue box. The black stallion is blue with black pouch and custom shop box. Both are new and unfired with all papers and outer white boxes. Thanks

well, can't tell you about value, because there aren't too many that come up for sale. I believe only 200 of each were made.
i saw one listed at $2400 last year. not sure if it ever sold.

A friend owns these but won't sell until he gets an idea of the value. I've seen the white stallion sell on gunbroker but never a black stallion or a pair with matching numbers. 0 -
When you are describing special editions, you have to be more exact than you would be describing most "like new" guns. A buyer would like to hear the words "unhandled, & no sign that the slide has been racked."
These guns don't change hands often because most special edition owners are scared "investors" like your friend; they don't want to risk not getting the "real" value. As most of us know, the real value is what someone is ready, willing, & able to pay, & the only way to find that out is to list it at auction with a realistic starting price.
If your friend REALLY wants to sell it, there is no place better than the GB auction. If his idea of a realistic starting price gets no bids, then that will help him decide if he should relist with lower expectations.
