MIM parts question

Does anyone know if Kimber uses MIM parts?

  Yes.
  They were, in fact, if not the very first, the first highly publicized user of Metal Injection Molded parts in their knockoff of 1911 pistols. But so does everybody else under a thousand dollars.
  
  So does Colt, although they admit to fewer pieces than other brands.
  
  I don't think Brown and Baer use MIM. Wilson used to but went to all milled parts about the time their least expensive model went over $2000.
  
  Except maybe the Communist Chinese and the Philipinos who cannot afford the equipment and have to use old tech.

  I'm not exactly sure of the above makers using MIM parts or not. However, Remington has been a leader in this market for 50 years. They have a separate division created just to handle design and manufacturing of MIM parts both for the firearms industry and general manufacturing as well.

  I think S&W was about the first gun maker to use MIM parts. It was just not well known.
