Weaver #4 Scope Mount (Side Mount)

Hello i am looking to find out what kind of a scope base can be used on a old Marlin model 93 30-30 rifle. My father in law has a very old model 93 (family heirloom) that is drilled and tapped for a side saddle type mount and we are having difficulty finding something that would fit without adding drilled holes in the gun. We have been told it takes a Weaver #4 scope base bracket but dont seem to be finding one of those. if anyone could add some useful info or direction it would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to GB.

Try to post some close up and clear pictures of the rifle where it has been altered to accomodate a scope base and/or mount, and hopefully, some members will be able to help you.

The directions for posting pictures are noted in "sticky" on this forum.

The only listing I see for the model 93 is a Weaver T-5. Has 2 holes just over 2" apart. Measure the gun and let me know. One more time , this mount took a 3/4" scope tube.

coming back? yes i am gathering the information requested. thanks for your requests for more info as the rifle is my father in laws and i am trying to assist it is not in my keep. i will get the pictures and measurements asap.

What is center to center on the inside holes??

YOU COULD MODIFY A WEAVER BASE TO FIT (WIN, M-94 COMES TO MIND), LOTS EASYER TO 'MOVE' HOLES IN ALUNIMUM.
