    I am not so sure what is so special. There is paperwork, but it looks like DCM paperwork, not military release papers. The over all condition is no where 95%, and there are some markings on the stock that are not viewable as the mag pouches are covering it up. This also does appear as of the date on the paperwork to be an arsenal rebuild...but with mostly Roc-Ola parts.

    You should have looked at the auction or post...the actual bids are well over $1300.00...not the sellers asking price.

    Just because the seller thinks its worth $1300 doesn't make it so...its only worth what someone is willing to pay


    There are alot of sellers here that have unrealistic prices on their items.

    There is nothing special about it other than being a Rock-Ola, the second least number of M1 carbines made. It was rebuilt as were 99% of carbines. When the were rebuilt the rear sight was changed to the adjustable, and flip safety and the bayonet lug put on.

    It is at $1500+ now. This is an old DCM gun and the papers do add value to the rifle. The OG stamping on the I-cut stock shows that it was rebuilt at Ogden, Utah while the release papers show that it came out of Red River. It is a nice looking Rockola and they are not getting any easier to find. It is priced too high for me, but if someone has a hole in their carbine collection then they'll spend what they need to to fill it.

    Whether or not YOU (or other collectors) think its worth $1500, its worth it to these two.

    JP, that nut is for the screw that holds the recoil lug.
    Look at picture 19 for the top of it.

    if you look at the bottom of the stock of my old Inland you can see the same hole for the recoil lug screw.

    I picked up a high-wood Rock Ola with the flip rear sight and the pushbutton safety for $ 750.00 less than a year ago. I thought I did pretty well, but am simply astounded that this is going for $ 1,500.00. I could have gotten and IBM and Winchester for the same price at the time. Wish I woulda done it now.
