    OK, I've been reading the ATF website and looks like the 1911A1 I'm selling falls under the list as {All properly marked and identified semiautomatic pistols and revolvers used by, or mfd. for, any
    military organization prior to 1946.} Please correct me if I'm wrong.
    I wouldn't have a problem sending to a Curio & relic FFl. Will I be able to check the status of these C&R FFL just like a FFL on Gunbroker? Thanks in advance, John

    If by that you mean can a Curio and Relic FFL be used to have qualifying (Curio and Relic) rifles, shotguns and hanndguns shipped directly to holders of C&R FFLs then the answer is yes.

    Will you be receiving a firearm from Oregon? I'm asking, because if you live in Oregon, either 1. You are not an 03 (C&R) FFL, otherwise you would know the status of your state, or 2. If you are a C&R FFL licensee, you should already have known that where the firearm comes from is of little concern to you. Now, with that said..

    You are interested in a machinegun. Yes, due to it's age, it falls under the catagory of a genuine C&R firearm. And you, as a C&R licensee, (still not sure of that, please correct me if wrong) can have it delivered directly to your filed C&R address.

    Now, because it is a machinegun, in addition to it's being a legitimate C&R, it also is an NFA item, and all NFA procedures will have to be satisfied prior to purchase.

    I'm going under the assumption that you are not versed in what's entailed here, and if wrong, I apologize..but your tying-in C&R eligibility with NFA regulations warranted further amplification.

    I believe what your question is is whether or not Oregon allows personal ownership of machine guns, and it does. While a Curio and Relic license is valid for having a C&R classified machine gun shipped directly to you it DOES NOT eliminate the many steps, red tape and paperwork needed to purchase a machine gun. At the top of the forum page there is an excellent post about the ins and outs of private purchases of National Firearms Act weapons (which include machine guns) written by one of our members who is well versed on private ownership issues. While I own a large number of National Firearms Act weapons, as a dealer my ownership and purchase procedures are much different than yours will be.
