Ruger 1 Stock Cracking

Anyone remember this problem when they first came out. I dropped one in 8 inches of snow a nd the grip cracked badly. Seems I read they were having a problem with the receiver attachment bolt from ther buttstock had too much tension.

  In your position I would contact Ruger. The might be willing to replace it, or at least cut you some slack on the replacement's price
  since this was a known problem. All they can do is tell you no, so I say it's worth a shot. If that doesn't work get on Brownell's website and see if they have a replacement stock, say in synthetic where weather won't be an issue.
