Al Freeland was a supplier of high grade target shooter supplies. He set up shop for many years at Camp Perry during the national matches some of the items he designed "SPOTTING SCOPE STAND" for one are still being made and sold today because they were great designs . Al passed away about 10 years ago . great stock if you want to build a custom Mauser match rifle .

EDIT HEY HEY double cross Bench Rest guys do [:I][:o)][:0] of course I doubt many do it with a Mauser 98. . When I was young they used Paper Patched. single shots but when BOBSKI was a kid they used match locks[}:)]

EDIT ICE RACER I was thinking about that when I did my reply to XX CROSS.I have a Remington Hepburn and have read about this type of match shooting. by Pope and others,I think in early gun digest. But the one thing I could never figure out was it looked to me that a bullet would get a better gas seal the first time down the bore not a return trip. I can see a false muzzle on a true muzzle loader but on a breach loading case and powder to then stick the bullet down from the muzzle always struck me as "STRANGE" to you think the old time old guys were maybe just as resistance to CHANGE as today's old guys "I ARE ONE" maybe I should buy myself a GLOCK and a AR. "NOT"[;)][:0][:o)]

Perry, sounds like you missed out on Muzzle Loading the pill w/ false Muzzles while breach loading the powder charge (Metallic case) ala Harry Pope and company. [:D]
