Winchester model 94...year made??

I have an old Winchester, Model 94, 32 special, serial #1206450. Can someone tell me the year this rifle was made? It has a flat butt plate and a covered front sight. Thanks!

  BertH can tell you, and will. Other sources, even published ones are unreliable.
  
  Edit: The published records, including the Savage 99 site, indicate this rifle was built in 1942. That is how far off the records often are.

  Model 94 serial number 1206450 was manufactured in mid April of 1939. It should have the serrated steel shotgun style butt plate.
  
  Edit: In looking at my survey records, I see that I have seen this Carbine somewhere, and that it does have the serrated steel butt plate. It also has the "W" stamped on the bottom of the frame, and the type-7 upper tang stamp.
