Pre War PPK Serial Number Question

I have a PPK serial number 236xxxK. The serial number is on the frame but not on the slide. I know that on Crown/N models, which this is, the last three digits of the serial number is scratched underneath on the inside of the slide. My question is, would those last three digits underneath slide include the K suffix or would they just include the last of the actual numbers. It looks like it says, 36K but it is hard to tell. Any help would be appreaciated. Thanks

    No problem. You came to the right place! Now, instead of sending one of us the gun to look at the area you are trying to describe, how 'bout puting a photo up? Instructions on top of this forum under "posting photos". Best, Joe

    Again, no problem (Ref: post below). Macro (tight in focus closeup) with the light source at an angle will do the trick. Position the light until the image is really legible. You'll know when the angle is correct. Best, Joe

    I was going to but the markings underneath the slide are so faint, I cannot get a legible photo of them. I just figured if someone knew in general it would help.

    If they're on the inside, the suffix is not usually included on the PP/PPk series. If stamped on the outside, it is.
