Need help with gun values and selling them
Hello,
My husband passed away unexpectedly last October. He had (and now I have) some really nice guns, I guess. I'm now at the point where I have to get rid of them. I have done some research and here's what I have now:
1943 Mosin Nagant M91/59 Izhevsk
1946 Mosin Nagant M44 Izhevsk w/bayonet attached
1938 Mosin Nagant M91/30 Tula
1944 Mosin Nagant M91/30 Sniper Izhevsk (it appears to be the original scope)
1847 Uberti Walker (black powder)
Uberti Cattleman's Carbine
And an Enfield with a magazine. I haven't been able to figure out the year on that one.
I was hoping for some suggestions on values and how to sell them.

Pictures of the Enfield would be of great help.
The first three Mosin Nagant rifles should sell easily for around $100. As for the fourth, value would depend on verifying it's authenticity.
You can sell them here on the auction side, do a consignment at a shop, or depending on local laws, you run an ad in the local sales paper.

The Moisin-Nagants are fairly popular rifles- a lot of them have hit the surplus market in the past couple of years, Depending on condition, these are about $100 rifles, more or less. Exception to that is the sniper version with the scope. There are many reproductions of these hitting the market, and a repro is worth quite a bit more- an original, a LOT more.
The Uberti's are recent repros of the original weapons.
The Enfield- if this is a bolt action rifle, right below the bolt handle, there is a metal band. There should be some info on the band.
If you read the sticky on how to post photos, good photos will be a great help. condition is everything.
Selling? You can sell to a dealer (who is all fairness, will give you WHOLESALE prices- they have to make a living) You can CONSIGN to a dealer, who will sell on your behalf- usually for a percentage or fixed amount. You can take them to a gun show, or you can sell them here on Gunbroker (go over to auction side, read tips for sellers) The cartridge firearms will need to be shipped to a Federal Firearms License holder (FFL- either a dealer or collector) if crossing state lines. The BP arms can in MOST states be shipped direct to buyer. Would NOT put ad in local trading post type paper to sell them. Equals putting sign up that says "Please come break in my house"0 -

Good point, but most people around here just leave a cell number and set a neutral meeting place. Guess I should have mentioned that.0
