1909 Argentine Carbine Safety

I just picked up 2 1909 Argentine Carbines. The safety on one is very hard to engage, almost impossible. When cocked, the notch in the cocking piece appears to be slightly forward of safety causing the problem. Any ideas?

  you may have to fit this, any wear in the trigger/sear chain and the cocking piece will rest forward of were it was originaly and the safty or cocking piece will have to be modified. (check for worn sear or trigger pins first)

  Thanks Mike,
  The cocking piece and triger both look a little worn. Together they might be the problem. After looking at the other 1909, the trigger might be from another type of Mauser. I ordered a new trigger/sear and cocking piece from Numrich.
