45 acp case
A friend of mine showed me a 45 acp case that uses a small pistol primer. The only marking on the case is NT 45acp. I have reloaded 45acp since 1978 and have never seen one nor have any of my other friends can someone shed some light on this case. Thanks

They are for the Non Toxic loads.
Non lead bullets.
I have no idea why Win and Federal did it.
My advice is to scrap them.

They are a curse to all owners of progressive reloading presses[:(!][V][:(] but you can reload if you want at least one step better then a BERDAN primed case [:0] Yes they can be reloaded but you don't know that are berdan until after you break decapping pin at least the small primer ones dont break any thing 0 -

The Dinol lead free priming compound is "hotter" than lead styphnate and less is required. Early Winclean had a great big flash hole to vent primer pressure into the case, then they went to small primers with less mix.
If you have a lot of them, you can reload them with standard small pistol primers but the occasional oddball is best just thrown away.0 -
Ended up with about 500 of those small primered .45's and ended up loading them for someone. He was happy, I was happy. 0 -
