Ruger M77 MkII in 264 Win. Magnum ??
I saw a NIB Ruger Stainless M77 MK II for sale today for $500. It has the black "boat paddle" all-weather stock, and is marked 1 of 1,000 on the floorplate. What can you tell me about this rifle and its value? Thanks for any information.

Does the one you saw have a muzzlebrake? See http://www.snipershide.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=1273657 for some info on one that might be a match for the one you saw. I've not used one in 264 but have had a couple (although not the 1 of 1000 variety) and one of them, in 280 Rem, was incredibly accurate. I've had mediocre accuracy results with Ruger 77s but that 280 would shoot reliably into less than an inch at 100. $500 for NIB sounds very reasonable especially if it has a muzzlebrake. 0 -

I've been a 264 fan for years, and have found you need a 26" barrel to realy get the goody out of this caliber. Winchester put a 26" tube on thier model 70s for this reason. If the Ruger has this feature I'd buy it, sounds like a deal. I've always had best results with 140gr bullets, especialy Nosler and Sierra.

As I remember its a distributor exclusive from Ruger .. They do these for Davidson's, Ellett sometimes.. Do you mean the old cut out black synthetic stock ruger used to have ? If so $500 is fair , its not a steal but fair.. 0 -
Yes, MFI, the stock is the one you described. I have a few Rugers with that style stock, now. I hated them at first, but they kind of grow on you. I agree with the preference for a 26 inch barrel in high velocity rifles. It does make a difference. I am still undecided on buying this Ruger. I wish someone would buy it so I don't have to think about it any more. 0
