Opinion on S&W 631 Value & "Collectability"

Don't see many of these and there isn't much history on the auction side. Have opportunity to buy the four inch target version with adjustable sights; no box, no papers. Has been fired but is in 97% or better condition with original grips. Haven't found much production history on these but S&W couldn't have made many of them. Ammo is hard to find but can reload if I want to shoot it. Would appreciate anyone's thoughts about purchase price of $500 plus tax. Thanks.

  Not a bad price, I have seen them go for $700+ in good shape. If you decide not to get it.... I would like the chance.

  Bought it, now looking for dies and brass. I had four boxes of 32 H&R left over from an early Ruger Single Six I had five years ago. . . but sold it to a friend a month ago. Wouldn't you know it. The 631 is in real nice shape; hope it shoots as well as it looks. Thanks for your comment.
