Pistol prop---?

what do you call the little props that you use in a trigger guard to tilt a handgun? I've seen some with logos like S&W, etc. What are they called and where can I get some? Thanks for any replies.

    are you8 talking about the piece that goes between the front gripstrap and trigger guard or the trigger shoe that goes on the trigger wider [?]

    I'm talking about the little plastic or wooden props that you place insde the trigger guard to display the gun. Just holds it up somewhat. I see them a lot used by sellers. I've seen people use wooden clothes pins to do this. I would like to find some like I have seen that have logos, like Colt or S&W.

    Fideau, why not cut off a few 6" lengths of 1/2" dowel rod, paint 'em white (or whatever) and use those? Here's a picture of a pistol prop someone made - and used on several different models of guns by placing it differently than on this Colt. I hope to find some woodworking friend who can make me one.

    I agree with Shansei45's suggestion. I made some props by cutting a wooden broom handle into 6" lengths and blackening them with a black magic marker. These work well with either handguns or long guns. The black makes them less obvious than a bright color or white.

    Thanks guys. I wanted some for collector purposes really more than for utility use. I can make them as suggested. I just wanted the factory logo made ones. I saw one a while back on Ebay and didn't bid on it thinking I could find them later. Now I find they are given out by mfgs. to dealers. Might be something someone could mfg. and make a little $ on.

    fideau you might try ASKING the various manufacturers if they have such items for sale. Or, check if they have a website with a company store that might sell them. Go to the source and question them. It doesn't cost anything to ask. If I were a manufacturer and had such an item, then heard from a collector who might be displaying my product and asking for such an item, I'd certainly try to accomadate that collector. Good luck with your search.
